Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
